Supervision

Euroips Associates provide supervision in a number of areas:

Counsellors and psychotherapists in training; qualified therapists; supervisors; researchers; organisational consultants.

Ken Evans, Euroips Co-Director  has been supervising counsellors and psychotherapists for over 20 years and together with Maria Gilbert is co-author of the book Psychotherapy Supervision; An Integrative Relational Approach published by Open university Press in 2000, which has been published in five languages.

Euroips provides a training programme in supervision run by Ken Evans and Joanna Hewitt Evans at Euroips residential centre at La Volee, in Normandy,  France in 2 x five day workshops and with  supporting  teaching supervision spread over twelve months.The programme is  also  taught in collaboration with, and partly or wholly located, in other European training centres. Three such programmes have been successfully completed in Malta, Greece and Serbia.

N.B. The 2010 course will be held in France

The course is regularly reviewed in both content and structure to provide training at the leading edge of developments in Europe.  The course draws upon the experience of several Euroips Associates and builds on preceding courses that have run successfully  each year for  20 years.

Diploma in Supervision  2010 - residential training in supervision over 2 x five days workshops.

Curriculum content:

Workshop 1.  (duration 5 days) 

An overview of the field.  

June 29 (evening start) to July 4 (ending lunchtime) 2010,  cost 500 euros, inc  accomodation, b&b and lunch at La Volee, France.     Participants make their own arrangements for  the evening meal by cooking for themselves in the farmhouse kitchen or eating out at a local French restaraunt.

  •  Functions, definitions, models and  contracts.
  •  Relational – developmental approach to supervision: the past in the  present influencing the future.
  • transference, counter transference and parallel process in supervision. 

Workshop 2.  (duration 5 days) also at La Volee in France

Creating and maintaining an effective learning environment.

September 14 (travelling day with evening start) to 19, (ending lunchtme) 2010, cost as above Workshop 1. 

  •  Learning and shame;
  •  The wider field – culture, ecology and the transpersonal dimensions of supervision.
  •  Ethical dilemmas and the role of the supervisor.

Each participant will make a presentation to the whole group on an aspect of their work as a supervisor, drawing on their experience and course curriculum.

Participants who wish to achieve the Diploma in Supervision will need to produce a paper  (theme negotiated with Course Leaders) and submit a tape transcript from a supervision session with a supervisee. Supervision  hours and supervision of  supervision hours are required over a period of not less than 12 months and are  negotiated between course participants and  Course Leaders.
